You heard a rumour somewhere that you needed to get some books for your class?
You're right, you will need a coursebook and a workbook for levels A1.1 to B1.2. We use the series 'Menschen' published by Hueber.
From B2.1 to C1.2 you'll be using the 'Sicher!' combined course and work book, also published by Hueber.
