What is our teaching method?

I'm sure we all have memories of being bored at school - that's exactly the learning experience we want to avoid! At speakeasy we're committed to making language learning fun and we hope that shines through in all aspects of the school.

We teach in small groups which average 8 to 10 people so you’re not just another face in the crowd. The maximun number of students, depending on the classroom, is 13 or 14.

The classes focus on an interactive, conversation-based learning experience, made up of both printed material and class activities, resulting in a varied & practical lesson. Forget boring classrooms. Here, each room has its own character with comfy, old Berliner furniture and modern artwork.

Speakeasy teaching is not just centred on working through a book, where possible we try to adapt our lessons around students' interests.

Our teachers all speak German at a native level, with a real drive to motivate & inspire you to learn the language. The syllabus accords with the CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), but your ideas can actively influence the class content.
